How Memorias prevents invented details
AI can make up details. Here is how Memorias keeps your book close to what you actually said, and what it still can’t catch.

How Memorias prevents fabrications - 'invented details'
No system can promise a book with zero mistakes, so Memorias works in layers. Each one catches what the one before it might miss.
Before writing
- Follow-up questions come from your own stories, not from a list.
- If a question assumes something you never said, tell Memorias. Your answer is treated as a correction.
- If two people share a name, Memorias may ask which one you mean instead of guessing.
While writing
- The text is built to stay close to what you actually said.
- When there isn't enough material for a section, Memorias doesn't fill the gap. The chapter is labeled as thin, and Memorias generates follow-up questions to fill it in.
After writing
- A separate review compares each chapter with the memories it came from, and flags claims, dates or names that weren't in them.
You have the last word
If you edit a chapter by hand, later automatic updates won't overwrite your edit.
Reading your finished book before printing is part of the process.
*Your voice stays attached to your story*
Recordings are kept as the original source, and each chapter of your book ends with a QR code linking to the recording behind it, with a voice index at the back. You can choose to leave the QR codes out.
We tell you in advance how long recordings are kept, and warn you before they are removed. You won't learn about a deletion afterward.
What Memorias guarantees
Price and payment
- No subscription and no auto-renewal. You buy credits and spend them on what you create.
- You see an estimate before assembly starts. We reserve a buffer above the estimate, but you are charged the actual cost, not the reserve.
- If a step fails, you shouldn't be charged for it. If you see a charge for a step that failed, write to us and we'll correct it.
- Refunds: within 14 days of purchase you can get a refund of the unused part of your credits, for any reason. Credits already spent aren't refunded. The Family Archive add-on can be refunded in full within 14 days. Full terms are on the Refund page.
- Credits you buy expire only after 36 months of complete inactivity, and we email you 60, 30 and 7 days before that happens.
Control
- Your edits stay: automatic updates won't overwrite a chapter you changed by hand.
- Nothing is written before you've approved the outline.
Your data and your book
- You can export your book as PDF, EPUB or DOCX. It is yours whether or not you keep using Memorias.
- You are told in advance before recordings are deleted.
What we don't promise
These are the real limits:
- Transcription can mishear, especially names and places. Review names before you print.
- Our follow-up questions sometimes assume a detail you never gave. We measured this in our own tests, found a small but real rate, and tightened the rules. If a question assumes something false, say so, and the answer is treated as a correction.
- Two people with the same name can be confused. Memorias is learning to spot this and ask. Where it doesn't, check the names in your draft and tell us if two people have been merged.
- A review catches most invented details, not all. Reading your finished book before printing is part of the process.
